While most road rules in Samoa are similar to those in other countries, especially New Zealand, there are a few differences that many visitors are surprised by or find unfamiliar. We’ll go through some of the most essential road rules for visitors here:
To legally drive on the roads in Samoa, you need a driving license issued in Samoa!
If you hold a full and valid overseas driving license, you are allowed to drive on Samoa’s roads if you obtain a Temporary Driver’s License (TDL) or have your International Driving Permit (IDP) endorsed by the Land Transport Authority (LTA).
